Certification is the line we work to. A tree is a living organism, so pruning it and keeping it going take knowledge before they take equipment, which is why Gravity Tree Worx is owned and run by Matt Collis, a certified arborist, and worked by qualified arborists. We are fully insured, and every quote is free, shaped around your budget and carries no obligation.

We are based in Ballarat Central and work Ballarat and the surrounding district. The reason that patch stretches is our all terrain tree work: skilled climbers, proper climbing and rigging equipment, and 4x4 vehicles, which between them get us onto steep ground, into back paddocks and up trees with no machine access whatsoever. If a job looks impossible from where you are standing, that is exactly the one we want to hear about.

Tree pruning is not one job here but several, and we name them separately: deadwood removal, selective branch removal, formative pruning to set a young tree up before it ever needs correcting, and hazard reduction work on the limbs most likely to fail. Where a tree wants support instead of a chainsaw, we install cabling and bracing. Hedge trimming sits on the same list.

On removals we cover tree felling and confined space removals, which is the courtyard job, or the one down the side between two houses, where the tree has to come apart in pieces with nowhere to drop any of them. Stump grinding follows on behind, and storm damage assistance is there for when the weather has already made the decision for you.

What comes off a tree does not have to go through a chipper. Our tree recycling takes in on site milling, so the tree you have removed can come back to you as usable timber, along with firewood processing and mulch sales. We also do habitat creation and bird box installation, which is the sensible answer for a hollow bearing tree that has to be reduced. Tree planting and landscape maintenance closes the loop: choosing and planting a suitable replacement after a removal, then mulching it and keeping it alive.
