Councils engage us to assess the Tree Applications and Development Applications that come across their desks. Green Tree Consultancy started in 2020, and each of our consultants brings more than fifteen years working in the arboricultural and horticultural industries.

We are a Registered Consulting Arborist with Arboriculture Australia and an associate member of the Institute of Australian Consulting Arboriculturists, qualified at AQF Level 5, the Diploma in Arboriculture. Our risk assessors are qualified in, and have worked extensively with, the TRAQ, QTRA and VALID methodologies. Public liability cover sits at twenty million dollars and professional indemnity at five million.

Tree surveys are the groundwork for managing green assets, because without an inventory of your trees any thorough management of the asset becomes problematic. That holds whether you have a small group of trees or a whole population across a large geographical area. We geolocate the trees accurately and collect the data fields that suit the project: tree valuation, canopy cover, species, age, health, structure, risk, retention value, work requirements and future planting opportunities. The data comes back in formats that will drop straight into GIS, CAD and asset management software, and if you have no tree asset management system yet, we can put one together that suits your needs and your budget.

Tree risk assessment can be a one-off look at a single tree, or an ongoing programme across whole tree populations, using whichever of TRAQ, QTRA and VALID fits the situation. Our wider consultancy work covers tree health and structural assessments, pest and disease identification with the solutions to go with it, tree planting specifications and species selection, pruning specifications, tree valuations and tree management plans. We also draft arboricultural strategies, policies and procedures for organisations that have to work to one.

On development projects we can come in at any stage, though bringing a Project Arborist in at the earliest stage helps you avoid the costly mistakes that can otherwise stop a development proceeding. That work runs from arboricultural site surveys and preliminary tree assessment reports through Arboricultural Impact Assessment reports, design review and consultation, root mapping and tree protection plans and specifications, to site supervision, monitoring, and the compliance and inspection certifications needed for CDC, DA, CC and OC sign-off.
