About This Business

Dean Whitton, our senior consulting arborist, holds AQF Level 5 in arboriculture, is a registered QTRA user and has more than ten years in the industry behind him. Greenline Arbor and Grounds is the family owned practice he runs from the Blue Mountains, and our roots are in hands on practising arboriculture, so the advice we give you is grounded in what can actually be done on the site.

If a council, a certifier or a client has asked for something in writing, that is our end of the work. We prepare Tree Risk Assessments, Arboricultural Impact Assessment reports for development applications, and Tree Protection Management Plans setting out what has to happen on site while a build goes ahead. Root investigation and mapping, tree surveys and aerial assessments fill in the detail when a tree cannot be judged properly from the ground, and every report comes off an inspection we have done ourselves.

On a development we can stay involved as your project arborist, giving arboricultural advice through the design stage, supervising work around retained trees and certifying that what was approved is what actually happened. Habitat creation often comes out of the same consent conditions, and we install and create habitat hollows to support local fauna, whether that is written into the consent or simply the right call for the site.

For the trees you are keeping, plant health care is where we spend our time. We write detailed reports on tree health and condition, put together pest and disease management plans, run starch testing to measure how much vigour a tree has left in it, and take soil analysis where the trouble is in the ground rather than the canopy.

Our work covers Sydney Metro, the Central Coast, the Blue Mountains and the South Coast, for local authorities, developers, schools, businesses, corporate clients and homeowners. A homeowner worried about one tree over a bedroom gets the same inspection and the same written assessment as a builder with a whole site to clear, just a shorter report at the end of it.

The way it runs is straightforward: a conversation about what has been asked of you, a site inspection, our assessment and advice, then the report, and ongoing support afterwards if the consent authority comes back with questions. We are contactable Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturday mornings until midday. Send through the address and a copy of what the council or certifier has asked for, and we will tell you which report you need and what it will take to get it.
