Green's Tree Lopping

Green's Tree Lopping has been working the Northern Rivers since 2002, a team of licensed arborists based at Rous Mill in the hills behind Ballina, with more than 30 years of industry experience across the crew. Domestic and corporate customers are both catered for, and the hours are listed plainly as 24 hours.

Tree removal and tree felling are the core of it. The crew hold EWP licences and a Chainsaw Level 3 licence, so platform work at height and the bigger removals sit inside their scope rather than being jobs they have to pass on to somebody else. Whether it is one dead tree in a suburban back yard or a run of them along a rural boundary, the same crew turns up. Stump removal and grinding follows the felling so the ground can be put back to use.

One thing sets this outfit apart in koala country. Before a tree comes down, they have a wildlife inspector check it for koalas. That is partly about not harming wildlife and partly about keeping a property owner clear of any possible animal cruelty charges, and on the Northern Rivers, where koala habitat and house blocks sit on top of one another, it is a sensible step that plenty of contractors skip.

Wood chipping processes the material where it falls, and the mulch that comes out of it is sold and delivered, so it ends up back on garden beds instead of in landfill. Palm tree pruning is on the list too, which counts for something on this stretch of coast where palms grow well past the reach of a ladder and drop fronds heavy enough to do real damage.

The base is at Rous Mill and the crew work right across the region: Lismore, Ballina, Casino, Alstonville, Kyogle and the wider Northern Rivers. Being available 24 hours matters in a district that cops storms, floods and the occasional serious wind event, since it is the difference between a tree sitting on the roof until Monday and somebody coming out to it that night.
