Greenwood Tree Climbing

2017 is when we set Greenwood Tree Climbing up, with more than 10 years of industry experience already in hand. What we have worked out since is how much of a tree job a customer actually wants to be part of, and the answer is usually more than they get offered. So we try to involve you at every step, because a tree looks very different from the ground than it does from the harness, and the finished product has to be the one you had in mind.

We work right across East Gippsland, from Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance out through Bruthen, Paynesville, Metung and Maffra, up into Dargo and Omeo, and east through Orbost to Mallacoota. That is a lot of country, and it means we can be working on a coastal block one day and a high country property the next, on trees that behave nothing like each other.

The technical end is what we are set up for. On a confined space tree removal we dismantle the tree in a spot where there is nowhere to put anything, and on advanced tree felling jobs the direction of fall has to be controlled to the metre. We take on pruning and removal of any size tree, along with weight reductions and crown thinning where the load needs to come off a tree before something gives. There is no cherry picker parked out the back, because we are a tree climbing business: we keep our climbing equipment and hire a cherry picker in on the jobs that genuinely need one. A 2.7 tonne excavator with a log grab does the lifting on the ground, and our tipper and chipper clear the debris as it comes down, so the job never sits in your driveway for a week waiting on someone else.

Once the cutting is done there is stump grinding to get the remainder out, hedges to bring back into shape, wood splitting if you want the timber usable, and block clean ups for a property that has got away from you, which is what the Kubota front deck mower is for. The chipper takes wood up to 14 inches in diameter, and we chip all the foliage and small wood unless you tell us otherwise. The mulch is yours to keep, and we only cart it off if you would rather not have it. The work is done on a Certificate III in Arboriculture and we are fully insured, though we will say plainly that we do not write legal tree reports, so if a council needs one you will need it from someone else.
