Horizon Tree Service has been working Hobart's trees since 2006, run by Glen out of Lenah Valley. Getting on for two decades in, it is a fully licensed and insured operation with qualified arborists and climbers on the crew, carrying twenty million dollars in public liability cover along with workers compensation for the team.

The core work is tree felling and tree removal, from a single dangerous tree to a whole block, backed by stump grinding to clear what is left below ground. On the maintenance side there is tree pruning and trimming, tree shaping and branch removal to keep established trees in good order and away from roofs and powerlines.

For the larger and trickier jobs the business takes on land clearing and powerline clearing, with woodchipping and mulching to deal with the debris on site. The mulch that comes off a job can go straight back onto the garden rather than off to landfill.

Horizon Tree Service runs a 24-hour emergency tree service for the storm-damaged and dangerous trees that will not wait for business hours. With the insurance, the gear and the experience already in place, it can get to an urgent job and deal with it safely rather than leaving it to get worse.
