Huon Valley Tree Care is owned and operated by Marcos Bakx, a qualified arborist holding an AQF Level 5 in Arboriculture with more than 12 years of hands on experience. We are fully insured and locally based, and the business has been built on reputation and word of mouth.

Tree removal and felling runs from a small backyard tree through to large removals in difficult access areas, and the clean up comes with it rather than being left for you to sort out. A complex removal in a tight space is the kind of job we would rather take than talk you out of.

For trees that are staying put, tree pruning is done to the Australian standards, taking in crown reduction, deadwooding, canopy lifting and formative pruning. The point of it is the health, shape and safety of the tree, not just cutting it back to fit.

Habitat creation is a specialised part of the work. We modify trees to form hollows, nesting sites and other habitat features for native wildlife, which supports the biodiversity around you while still dealing with the tree on your property.

Where a tree is structurally compromised, cable bracing installs a support system to stabilise it, reducing the risk of a limb or the trunk failing in a storm or high winds and adding years to the safe life of the tree. If you would rather stay ahead of trouble, tree maintenance covers regular inspections, minor pruning, storm damage clean up and general tree health assessments.

We work right across the Huon Valley, through Huonville, Ranelagh, Franklin, Cygnet and Grove, down to Geeveston, Port Huon, Dover and Southport, and out through Judbury, Glen Huon and Lonnavale. In Kingborough we cover Kingston, Kingston Beach, Blackmans Bay, Margate, Snug, Kettering, Woodbridge, Taroona and Gordon, and in the southern suburbs of Hobart we get to Sandy Bay, South Hobart, Dynnyrne, Fern Tree, Mount Nelson and Ridgeway.
