Inland Vegetation Management

Inland Vegetation Management is a locally owned outfit based in Moree, built around a team of Cert III qualified arborists and horticultural specialists. Reece Thrift runs it, and the client list stretches from farmers and homestead owners through to government agencies, schools and commercial sites across northern inland New South Wales. It is a licensed member of the Tree Contractors Association of Australia, which is not a badge you can simply buy: membership carries independent audits of work practices and safety protocols, and the licence can be verified on the TCAA register.

The arboriculture side covers tree pruning carried out to AS 4373-2007, hazardous tree removal, stump grinding, and tree health and safety inspections for owners who need to know whether a tree is a problem before it becomes one. Emergency tree services are offered as well. Where a tree sits over a shed, a fence or a school building, high access tree work is done off a spider lift rather than by dropping timber and hoping, and the green waste is processed on site.

Horticulture is the other half of the business, and it is aimed squarely at homesteads and grounds that have to look right all year. That means full grounds maintenance, mowing and blowing, core aeration, top-dressing, weed control, and irrigation maintenance and repairs. The same crews tidy up workers quarters and keep driveways and fence lines clear, so a station owner is not juggling three different contractors for the one property.

Out in the paddocks the work becomes rural vegetation management: fence-line slashing, fire-trail clearing, forestry mulching for land clearing, targeted spraying with boomless sprayers, and TSR maintenance. They also handle tree and plant establishment and sell mulch from what comes off the job. The plant list behind all of it runs to spider lifts, brush chippers, forestry mulchers, premium mowers and stump grinders.
