Damian Westall owns and runs it, he is a qualified arborist, and there are more than 20 years of this behind him. Builders keep our number because we turn up when we say we will.

Damian knows the council regulations across the Northern Beaches and the North Shore, and he will tell you plainly what work is permitted and when approval is needed. As a general rule, a tree under 5m in height, under 10m in canopy diameter and under 1.5m in trunk circumference measured a metre above the ground does not need a council permit to prune or remove, unless it is growing on the site of a heritage item. Every council runs its own tree and vegetation management policy though, so yours is the one that decides it, and we will point you at the right form if an application is required.

Our qualified arborists and ground staff take on tree removal and tree lopping, the tree pruning and tree thinning that keeps a canopy structurally sound, and crown raising and branch removal to bring light and clearance back around a house. Stump grinding leaves the ground ready to landscape or replant, and palm cleaning and palm removal is a specialty of its own that we are properly set up for. Where a valuable tree is in the wrong spot, tree transplanting relocates it rather than losing it, and everything that comes off a job goes through tree mulching and woodchipping before we leave.

When a tree comes down in a storm or a limb is hanging where it should not be, our storm damage and emergency tree work crew responds fast and gets the property safe. On the paperwork side, Damian prepares arborist reports for tree assessments, council requirements and development applications, with recommendations you can actually act on.

Quotes are free, on site and come with no obligation. Damian visits, walks the property, assesses every tree visually and tells you about the hazards that are there now along with the ones building for later. You do not have to be home for it, provided you have explained what you need over the phone: he will ring you from the site if something needs discussing, then leave the quote in your letterbox or email it across. We carry a $20 million public liability and workers compensation policy.
