Rob Rojewski grew up around timber. There is a long family history in the forestry industry behind Judd's Tree Solutions, and it shows in the way Rob reads a tree before touching it, knowing the timber as well as the tree. Fifteen years of running this business out of Strathfieldsaye have been spent on Bendigo and the districts around it, which is a patch of clay soils, old goldfields regrowth and a lot of large gums standing far too close to houses that were built later.

The other half of Rob's background is less common in this trade and probably matters more: occupational health and safety, and project management. It changes what happens before the first cut. A job gets scoped, sequenced and risk assessed as a piece of work, with the order of operations settled and the hazards written down, and then the crew turns up and executes it. On a domestic block that means you are told what will happen and when, and it happens that way. On anything larger it means the site does not turn into three people improvising around a tree. It is also why cost effective is a phrase we are comfortable using: the savings come out of planning the work properly, not out of cutting corners on the day.

The everyday work is tree and branch removal where something has to go, and tree trimming and pruning where it does not but has grown into a roof, a line or a neighbour's airspace.
