Thousands of cubic metres of mulch leave our yard every year and none of it is billed. Kennedys Tree Services gives it to schools across the southern and eastern suburbs of Perth, to aged care homes and to church groups, whenever we have it to give. We are family owned and run, and we have been doing tree work in Perth for more than 25 years.

A tree is not an isolated object to us. It is part of the urban forest: the trees around our houses, parks and gardens that filter water, sunlight and air, shelter native animals, and pull the temperature down over a suburb in summer. Councils here understand what that investment is worth, and hundreds of trees in Western Australia sit on the State Heritage database. Alongside domestic work we take on vegetation management, on-site inspection and maintenance for public and private infrastructure and facilities managers.

Tree removal is rarely about a tree simply being in the way. Roots get into house footings and lift footpaths, a lightning strike leaves a trunk unstable, a run of high winds or a hard summer takes the integrity out of big limbs, and disease finishes the job. We send a senior estimator out to look at the tree, set out a plan of action and put a price on it, all at no cost to you.

Tree pruning, trimming and deadwooding covers the rest of it: thinning a crown to let air and new growth through, reducing the height of a tree, taking out low branches that obstruct, clearance around powerlines, and shaping where the look of the thing matters. Our arborists are trained for pruning near high and low voltage lines, and hold chainsaw trim and fell certificates, elevated work platform certification and senior first aid. With stump grinding, the grindings can stay on your garden beds or go on the truck with us, whichever you prefer.

The mulch that comes off a job is worth keeping. It holds weeds down, slows the evaporation out of your soil, and breaks down into organic matter that lifts the nutrient levels and the structure underneath.
