About This Business
October and November are the months to get a property ready. Cyclone preparation means going through your trees before the season builds, trimming back the branches that would come off in a blow and working out which trees are in a state to hold together. We are Kimberley Tree Care, based in Broome and working right across the Kimberley region. Marco Morgado, arborist and Managing Director, has built the crew out of certified arborists: Jacopo Righetto on operations, Elly Driver, Carles De Febrer and Clement Gressier leading teams, and Marta Rodrigues running the office.
Tree pruning here is selective, taking out the dead, the overhanging and the untidy so the risk of a branch or a whole tree failing comes down, and it follows Australian Standard AS 4373, Pruning of Amenity Trees. Trees in decline, and the ones that have been called dangerous, come out under tree and palm removal, wherever they happen to be standing. Where a tree cannot be climbed or there is no room to work around it, crane access removal lifts it out in sections. Palm cleaning and de-nutting takes the dead fronds, seeds and fruit off before they end up on somebody's head, and stump grinding gets the stump out without wrecking the garden around it.
On domestic and commercial lots, land clearing includes pulling the stumps and processing the material where it stands. Getting a firebreak cut to the legal requirement brings the bushfire risk down at the same time, and slashing keeps vegetation in check so it does not spread or turn into a fire and pest problem. Tree mulching and woodchipping is done on site, and the chip can be delivered to you or picked up. For noxious trees such as neem we hold a Department of Health pest control licence, number 2729.
The team is qualified in the QTRA method, so a tree risk assessment from us is a measured judgement rather than an opinion, and reports are backed by QTRA, TRAQ and VALID certification. Corporate services take in customised tree management programmes, scheduled maintenance to AS 4373, arborist reports, and large scale removals for government and commercial clients throughout the region. We are members of the International Society of Arboriculture, an Arbwest professional member and a QTRA registered user, and we carry full public liability insurance.
Our emergency callout runs seven days a week and after hours, for the clean up when a storm has been through. Safety, integrity and the standard of the work come first on every job, and we operate with respect for the Indigenous communities whose country we work on. Ring 08 5105 8094 or 0418 495 111 and we will get someone out to have a look.
