Leaf and Limb Tree Services

In 2013 this was one man contracting on his own. Dylan Anderson founded Leaf and Limb Tree Services that year, and across the ten years since we have grown into a business with a serious amount of equipment behind it, depots at Healesville and Yarra Junction, and a crew that councils and electricity distributors call on.

What that growth actually bought is the gear that decides which jobs we can say yes to. Our Först tracked chipper is one of only two in Victoria and gets into ground a towed machine never will. The 19 metre Redmond Gary elevated work platform has a fully insulated boom, with all electrical and weight testing compliant and in date, which is what lets us work near live lines. A Kubota UG35 excavator with a rotating log grab does the lifting, and behind them sits a fleet of trucks in several bin sizes and configurations, one of them a hook lift body, along with 4x4 Toyota Hiluxes carrying upgraded towing capacity.

That showed in the 2022 floods. We helped restore power to Wangaratta by taking a fallen tree off the powerlines while the water was still up, which is a job that needs the insulated boom, a crew trained for it and the paperwork to prove both. We have also worked on a run of unusual projects with Healesville Sanctuary for Zoos Victoria.

We work for government and council, commercial and residential clients, among them Murrindindi Shire Council, Zoos Victoria, Johns Lyng Group and Melbourne electricity distributors. In practice that runs from tree removal and branch clearance around powerlines through to block clearing with the excavator and a proper site clean up afterwards, and we hold the resources to respond quickly to emergency and urgent works. We are independently certified by SAI Global to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, and audited against all three every year. Our operators go through regular training and the machines are kept to a maintenance schedule, because sustainable growth and safety are what we set the business up around.

We are based at Healesville and work throughout Melbourne and the Yarra Valley, and the Wangaratta job is a fair indication of how far we will travel when the work calls for it.
