Qualified and fully insured counts for more on some jobs than it does on others. When the thing on the other side of the branch is a transmission or distribution power line, or a stretch of the Country Rail Network, the job stops being about the tree and starts being about what happens if the tree touches it. Livingstone Tree Service has been carrying out that sort of vegetation management around government owned assets, and ordinary backyard work in the same week, since 2011.

Locally owned and managed, we are based in Orange and work across Central West NSW. On the government and civil side that means roadside clearing where a sightline has closed over, block clearing where a whole parcel has to be opened up, and stump grinding afterwards so the ground is left ready to use instead of pocked with what we took out. On the residential side it is the same business turning into your driveway, which is most of the reason a decade in one district is worth anything.

Town blocks are where the care gets spent. Residential work here means difficult access and structures sitting close by, and that constraint is what we plan around before anything else: a tree standing in behind a garage, a canopy leaning out over the neighbour's roof, a stump ringed by paving with nowhere for a machine to get a run up. It decides whether a tree is felled whole or taken apart piece by piece, and how much of it ends up going out through the front gate by hand. The list itself is the usual one, tree removal for the trees that have become a risk, tree pruning to bring shape and health back, hedging and trimming along the boundary screens and the grinding that follows a removal, and every bit of it gets worked out around what will physically fit.

Very little green leaves a job as rubbish if we can help it, because green waste management puts the mulching, disposal and recycling on us, and what comes off your property turns back into mulch, wood chip and firewood. We take emergency storm damage calls as well, for a swift response and a clean up after a front has been through. Our office runs Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 5:00pm and is closed at weekends, so the trucks are moving early.
