About This Business
Phil Armitage started Lumberjack QLD in December 1995, lopping trees for private householders around Caboolture, and he is still the managing director three decades on. What grew out of that is a business running domestic tree crews and high voltage powerline vegetation programs out of the one yard, with Mark Kennedy co-ordinating vegetation and Cameron Arnold heading the civil side. Energex has handed us Supplier Quality Awards in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, Excellence in Customer Care in 2010 and 2015, and safety awards for twelve months lost time injury free in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016. Those are the results we would rather be judged on than any adjective.
On a house block that experience turns into careful, unhurried work. Our qualified arborists handle tree pruning and trimming to take weight off limbs sitting near roofs, powerlines and footpaths, and we climb where a tree cannot be reached any other way. When one has to come out, we take it out, and the stump grinding that follows works below ground level so nothing shoots back through the lawn. Tree lopping, wood chipping, hedging and herbicide spraying fill out the domestic side, and all of it is completed to Australian Standards and fully guaranteed.
The commercial side is where the heavy plant comes in. We run vegetation management programs for power service providers, councils, schools, day care centres, property developers and civil construction companies, covering tree felling from elevated work platforms or off the ground, maintenance programming, notifying affected property owners, obtaining approvals and permits, slashing, grooming and spraying. Alongside that sits our civil infrastructure work: access roads and construction site rehabilitation, vertical drilling and pole foundations, and the lifting, standing, removal and replacement of power poles. In 2016 we built a bridge crossing over Seary's Creek at Rainbow Beach in an environmentally sensitive location, working closely with the client, local councils and government departments. We also hire out plant and equipment.
Our yard runs Monday to Sunday, 6am to 6pm. Outside those hours the emergency call-out operates 24/7 on a three point contact system, so an urgent call gets straight through to someone who can act on it. If a tree has come down on powerlines, blocked a driveway or is leaning on a building after a storm, we can get a crew out to assess the risk, clear the hazard and make the site safe again.
Our work stretches as far south as the NSW border, as far north as Rainbow Beach and as far west as Toowoomba, with the home patch taking in Caboolture, the wider Moreton Bay region, North Brisbane and the rest of South East Queensland. Quotes are free, whether it is one gum leaning over a back fence or a vegetation program across a council network. Ring us, email us or fill in the contact form with the details of the site, and we will come and price the job.
