Our elevated work platform reaches 23 metres and still fits through a standard gate, which is how Mackay Arbor and Landscaping gets to the top of a tree hanging over a house without dismantling the fence to do it. Where the machine cannot get in at all, our climbers go up instead, fully kitted and ready to ascend. We are qualified arborists and landscapers, ticketed on every machine we run, and covered by $20 million of public liability insurance.

Big trees need big gear. Our chipper takes a high diameter limb, runs a winch and empties into a 13 cubic metre chip bin, so the crew stays on site working rather than driving to the tip and back, and you get a better price for the same job. Tree felling and topping is where that matters most: a lean can fool you into thinking a tree will drop easily, and a big one that goes slightly wrong on a hill with a concrete driveway underneath gets costly in a hurry.

Tree removal and tree trimming cover the ordinary jobs, from taking out the tree that has swallowed the back yard to trimming a canopy back so the sun reaches your new solar panels. Correct pruning and crown reductions keep a tree safe and green through the year instead of leaving it stressed. Stump grinding is done with compact machines that fit through a standard doorway, cutting to 400 millimetres so there is no root left to reshoot, and our low ground pressure machinery keeps the lawn around it looking like we were never there.

We live in the tropics with the Whitsundays out the back door, and the trade off is storm season. Our cyclone and storm clean-up runs on 24/7 emergency call-outs, and we would much rather get out for a free assessment before the season starts and take the dangerous limbs off while there is time. When the ground itself is the problem, the excavator and bobcat come out for excavation and landscaping, whether that is a boggy back yard, a renovation site, or bare dirt left behind after the trees have gone and you want lawn over it.
