Robert McArdle is a qualified arborist and the fourth in his family to do this work. The business behind him started in 1956 and has stayed in the family ever since. McArdle Tree Services is family operated, fully licensed and insured, a member of the TCAA, and based at Galston in Sydney's north west.

Trees come out because they are dead, dying, structurally unsound, or simply standing somewhere they should never have been planted. We work out which of those you are actually dealing with before we quote on it, and when a tree does come down we take total care of what is around it. Seventy years of doing this in the same part of Sydney means very little surprises us now.

Where a tree can stay, our tree pruning takes out the dangerous branches and handles the lighter maintenance work, weighing up what the tree needs to stay healthy against what you want from the garden. That assessment is the part worth paying for, and it happens before anyone gets the saw out.

Stump grinding uses specialist machinery to clear out what the tree leaves behind, so you can put grass, a garden bed or a slab over the top, and it removes what would otherwise sit there feeding fungus. Where a whole block has to be opened up, our land clearing takes out the tree and shrub growth and turns it into useable space, for houses and commercial projects alike. We also sell clean mulch and firewood that burns properly, and both come off our own jobs.

We work for schools, universities and TAFEs, childcare centres, churches, builders, property developers, strata managers, offices and golf courses, as well as for householders on ordinary suburban blocks. Our 24 hour emergency service is there for the times when a tree has come down and nothing can wait until Monday.
