McMahon's Earthmoving & Tree Services

McMahon's Earthmoving & Tree Services has been going since 2006, when Richard and Rachel McMahon started it in Jindabyne. It is still family owned and it employs local families. The business runs two sides of the same operation, earthmoving and tree work, which is a practical pairing in country where a block often needs clearing and levelling in the one visit.

The tree side is run by qualified arborists, with the crew holding credentials from chainsaw tickets upwards. The company describes its people as fully licensed, insured and accredited arborists with 25 years of experience behind them. Tree removal is the main game, and McMahon's is insured for unlimited height removal, backed by a 25 metre fully certified tower and climbers for the trees a tower cannot reach. Dangerous trees are a category of their own here. Block and site clearing is where the two halves of the business meet. Excavation and demolition sit alongside the tree work across domestic, commercial, industrial and civil jobs, so a development site can be cleared of trees, stripped and prepared without bringing in a second contractor. Clients run from private owners with one job to developers doing land clearing at scale. The company's stated aim is a premium service at a competitive rate, with projects finished on time and on budget.
