About This Business

Two Bandit XP 250 wood chippers, a Rayco 1636 RG stump grinder, and a Snorkel elevated work platform with fifteen metres of access. That plant list is the short answer to why M&M Trees can say no job is too big or too small and mean it. Behind those three sit skid steer loaders, six and eight tonne tipper trucks, four wheel drive field service utilities, chainsaws, pole saws, hedge trimmers and high pressure water blasters, so there is very little we have to hire in before a crew starts.

We are the tree and earth removal arm of the M&M Group, a locally owned and operated company that has been servicing the Eyre Peninsula for more than 25 years out of Port Lincoln. The other arm is civil construction, which is why our crews turn up on road reserves and council contracts as readily as in a back yard. State and local government, commercial operators and private landholders right across the peninsula are all on the books.

A job on a roadside is a different proposition from a job in a garden. It wants a traffic plan, signage and somebody ticketed to run it, and because we hold work zone traffic management tickets there is no second contractor to bring in and nobody else's schedule to wait on. The paperwork behind it works the same way. We are members of the Civil Contractors Federation and fully certified with an IMS Contractor Management System, so the plant, the tickets and the documentation are all in place before a crew arrives on site. That is the part our government and council clients ask about first, and it is the part that decides whether a tender goes anywhere.

On the trees themselves the work runs to tree felling and removal, tree trimming and hedge cutting and trimming, with the elevated work platform for the straightforward lifts and qualified climbers for the high risk areas a bucket will never reach. Stump grinding and removal follows the felling wherever you want the ground back. Every limb that comes off goes through the chippers, and because we run mulch sales you can keep the load for your own garden beds or have it carted off the property.

Before summer the calls change. Vegetation clearance and our bush fire hazard reduction service open up blocks, tracks and boundaries, taking in fire breaks, yard clean ups, brush cutting and dead wood removal. We are ChemCert accredited for weed control and for stump and sucker poisoning, so regrowth gets dealt with at the root while we are there. We write arborist reports where a tree has to be assessed before anybody touches it, and while the platform is already up we can take care of commercial gutter and pressure cleaning in the same visit.

Once a blow has been through, storm damage emergency work jumps the queue, because a limb on a shed roof or a tree across a driveway will not keep until next week. For everything else, the most useful thing you can do is get us out to stand in front of it, whether that is one tree over a fence line or a season of clearing on a rural block. Ring the office or send the details through by email, and we will sort out a time to come and see it and give you a free quote on what it takes.
