Mark came to tree work from landscaping, and the thirty years he has spent helping homeowners improve the look of their properties still set the standard at MTS Tree Services. He founded the business, he still manages it, and the crew alongside him brings more than 21 years of arboriculture experience. We hold full public liability insurance, we have kept a flawless safety record across every job we have run, and whenever we prune we do it in strict accordance with the Australian standard AS 4373, because a cut made correctly today is what keeps a tree sound a decade from now.

We take trees down in every size, from a small ornamental beside a path through to extra large specimens that need our own cranes to lift them clear. On a tight St George block with nowhere to drop a stem, we section the tree and rig each piece out over the fence line, and your driveway, roof and garden beds stay as we found them. That is the same standard local schools, roadways, the council and strata managers rely on when they book us for commercial tree removal, where access is awkward and the public is standing a few metres away.

For the trees that are staying, we prune, lop and trim to keep a canopy in proportion with the house and the neighbours, and we take on the finer end of the trade as well, including sculpting, felling, branch shaping and bracing. Bracing is worth asking us about if you have a big old tree with a split union, because a well placed cable will often hold a tree somebody else has already told you to pull out.

Most sizeable trees around here need council approval before they can come down, generally anything over 3 metres high or with a crown wider than 2 metres, and the fines for skipping that step run as high as $110,000. We inspect the tree, tell you straight whether it needs a permit, set out the right reasons in the application on your behalf and supply an arborist report where the council wants one. Expect a wait of one to two weeks while the inspector comes out to look.

Once the tree is on the ground we finish with stump grinding and removal, using modern machines that take the remains out below ground level so you can turf the spot, plant into it or just run the mower straight over. Emergency tree removal is available 24 hours a day, and storm damaged trees get a fast response, so a leaning trunk or a hung up limb is not left sitting over your driveway overnight.
