A tree near the house starts dropping limbs, or leans a little further than it did last winter, and nobody can tell you whether that actually matters. That is where we start. We prune to AS4373-2007, the Australian Standard for the pruning of amenity trees, and it is the standard every one of the crew is trained to. The aim is to keep a tree as close to its true form as we can, so the work does not announce itself a season later. The same thinking sits behind our elm leaf beetle control, because the elms through this district are worth defending, and behind the right tree in the right space, which is the cheapest way we know to avoid the problem altogether.

On the ground that means tree removal where a tree has died, turned unsafe or outgrown its space, tree pruning to keep a canopy healthy and clear, stump grinding for what is left afterwards, and cherry picker hire when a job needs safe access at height. We put the green waste straight back to work as chipping, mulch and firewood, and we do tree planting to get new growth into gardens, streetscapes and rural blocks. Jason Monro leads the team on site, the crew hold their Certificate II and III qualifications, and we are set up to work in open ground and in tight, limited space.
