Mitch is our owner and director, an AQF5 qualified arborist with a Certificate III behind that and fifteen years in the industry. What began as a small, family owned and operated outfit in the South West has kept growing since, and the machinery has grown with it, which is how Norcape Tree & Contracting Services now handles complex vegetation management projects and the single dead tree in a back garden with the same crew. In recent years the work has taken us into the Pilbara as well, without letting go of the client base built up around Busselton, and we service all of Western Australia from there. Across the team there is better than 35 years of combined experience.

Mitch also holds a Quantified Tree Risk Assessment qualification, and that is what our tree assessment work runs on. QTRA puts an actual number on the risk a tree presents, so when we tell you a tree can be kept or has to come out, you have something you can weigh up for yourself. Hours of continuous training sit behind those tickets. Every crew we send out carries at least one member holding a Certificate III in Arboriculture, and we offer the arboriculture apprenticeship to every worker on the books, so what the crew knows keeps deepening as the industry does.

On a house block the work runs to tree pruning, formative pruning on young trees that want shaping before they set their habit, and tree removal where a tree has become dead or dangerous. Stump grinding follows to get the remains out of the lawn, and we can reach all areas and grind stumps of any size. Limbs that have got in among the wires are a powerline pruning job, and fire mitigation brings the fuel load on a block down before the season turns. After a blow has been through, storm damage clean up gets the mess off the driveway and the roof, and mulch delivery puts what came off the job into your garden beds.

The commercial side runs bigger. Large scale tree removals, block clearances and powerline pruning on contracts that need a crew and plant behind them, not a ute and a chipper. On those projects we work alongside a range of other contractors to get the job finished to the standard it was specified at, and the rate stays competitive.
