North Queensland Arboricultural Services

Four apprentices have come through our business and finished their certification in Arboriculture, and a fifth is in training right now. North Queensland Arboricultural Services is owned and operated by Ken and Annette, with sons Christopher and Jesse on the tools, and putting young people through their tickets is what a family business does when it intends to still be here in twenty years. Christopher started with us at 15 as a school based apprentice and Jesse joined in 2017. Ken and Annette brought a 25 year arboriculture background north in 2010, and across the crew there is more than 40 years of combined industry experience.

Our tree and palm removal, tree felling and climbing work handles the trees that have died, gone unsafe or simply have to make way, and we bring in an EWP cherrypicker and an Avant articulated loader wherever the access allows it. For the trees that are staying, tree pruning, crown lifting and deadwooding strip out what is dead or hanging and lift the canopy back off roofs, sheds and driveways. Every one of our crew is trade certified, licensed with a high risk work licence and fully insured.

Coconuts have to be brought down under control before they come down on their own, so our coconut palm de-nutting and cleaning keeps them safe over paths, pools and parking areas. After a removal our stump grinding clears out what is still in the ground, and our root barrier installation keeps invasive roots away from your paths, your pipes and your foundations. We take on commercial hedging and hedge trimming as well, for the sites that need a clean line held all year.

Green waste leaves your place as something useful. Our green waste recycling, woodchipping and mulching turns the day's work into mulch, and we will deliver it back to you when you want it for the garden. Our tree inspections and advice and scheduled tree maintenance programs put a property's trees on a plan instead of leaving them to become an emergency, and our tree planting service puts the right species back in where one has come out. Being known as a sustainable arboriculture provider is what we are working towards.

Our patch runs from Palm Cove down through Cairns City and the south side to Gordonvale, and on as far as Innisfail. We are working Monday to Friday, seven in the morning until five. Every quote is free and done on site by one of our arborists, because scoping a job properly means standing under the tree and looking at it, so get in touch and we will come out to you.
