OS Trees

OS Trees commenced operations in 2010 and now employs more than 15 trained field staff, with an operations office in Bathurst and the yard at Orton Park. Staff hold AQF arboriculture levels matched to the work they perform, backed by ongoing training and internal competency checks, and the company is fully accredited under internationally recognised management systems and independently certified through JAS-ANZ. Public liability and workers compensation cover are both held. Work goes out to government, commercial and residential clients, which explains the size of the plant list.

Tree removal is the core of it, from a single dead gum in a back yard through to work inside rail corridors, with elevated work platforms, chippers, stump grinders and land clearing machinery on the fleet. Pruning and hedge trimming covers the maintenance end, stump grinding takes out what is left in the ground, and green waste removal and mulching services deal with the material rather than leaving it stacked on a nature strip.

Storm work has its own crew and its own number. OS Trees runs a 24/7 emergency line for storm damage, fallen branches and other urgent hazards, with round the clock response across Bathurst, Orange, Mudgee, Cowra, Blayney, Oberon, Parkes, Forbes and the towns around them. The sequence is a practical one: assess the site, take the tree down under load, clear the property, coordinate with the utilities where power is involved, then either finish the clean-up or make the site safe and come back for the rest.

The contract work is where this outfit parts company with a domestic tree service. Block clearing, land clearing, roadside clearing and ongoing vegetation management go out to councils, civil contractors and rural landholders, and there is dedicated railway and infrastructure capability, an environment with its own access rules and safety standards. The environmental end is not an afterthought either: hollow augmentation puts nesting hollows back into retained trees, and the crew take on rehabilitation, revegetation and renewables site work.

Coverage reaches a long way past the Central West. Regular ground takes in Central West NSW, Western NSW, the Riverina, the Snowy Mountains, Lithgow and the Blue Mountains, along with Newcastle, Port Stephens, New England, Northern NSW and the Sapphire Coast.
