About This Business

Most people ring us at the point where a tree has stopped being a tree and started being a problem. A limb hanging over the shed since the last front came through. A paddock quietly going back to scrub. A stump sitting exactly where the new slab has to go. Outback Tree Service has been answering that call out of Dubbo since 2004, we are fully insured, and the crew is made up of qualified arborists and tree surgeons with around fifteen years of combined experience on the tools.

Our work runs from Dubbo and surrounds out across the Central West and into Western New South Wales, which is a long way to travel with a chipper on the back and one of the reasons we plan a job properly before the trucks leave the yard. The people who book us range from a homeowner who wants one tree looked at through to regional councils, large businesses, schools and government contracts. The tender paperwork and the site inductions come with the second sort of job, and the same crew turns up for the first.

Pruning is where we are fussiest, and it is the reason we work to AS4373, the Australian standard for pruning amenity trees. A cut placed in the wrong spot does not announce itself; the tree seals over, looks fine for a few seasons and then starts declining from the wound years later, by which time nobody connects the two. Cutting to the standard is how a canopy gets reduced or thinned without that happening. Where a limb sits above a fence line, a shed roof or a set of wires with nothing safe to climb to, the cherry picker goes in and we work it from the basket instead of from the tree. On a rural block that has gone over, the bobcat and the excavator are what turn land clearing into a job of days, and the wood chipper handles what comes down so the site is clean when we drive off it.

The list is not long and it covers what a Central West property tends to throw up: tree removal, lopping and felling, tree pruning, land clearing, stump removal and stump grinding. If you are not yet sure the tree has to come out at all, that on its own is worth a phone call. We do tree assessments as a job in their own right, and you will get a straight answer about what the tree needs before anyone quotes you to take it away. Ring 0400 331 477 or email [email protected] and we will arrange a time to come and look at it.
