Some of our team have been here more than 25 years. Owen's Tree Service has been looking after the trees and palms of Fremantle and the suburbs around it since 1982, and we are still locally owned and run, working out of East Fremantle and fully insured for both public liability and workers compensation. Tree pruning takes in more than most people expect. Deadwooding gets the dead and diseased limbs out before one of them lets go on a still afternoon. Crown reduction and thinning open the canopy so the tree carries less wind load when the weather turns, which takes the stress off it and lengthens its life. Crown lifting keeps footpaths, driveways and roads clear underneath. Selective work stops leaf litter dropping into a pool, opens up a view, or simply lets more light onto the block. Different branch growth calls for different cuts, so we choose the one that lets the tree seal properly and does not throw up a mess of regrowth.

When a tree has to go, tree removal is a decision worth talking through first, and we will give you the honest version of it. Roots lifting a patio or a footpath, a lean that is getting worse, decay from old age, pests or fungal infection, storm damage that has left the structure compromised, or simply a tree that has outgrown a residential block and is crowding the house. Our climbers get large trees out of very congested sites without wrecking the garden on the way. Stump grinding is the step after, a high speed cutting disc taking the stump down to fragments, which matters if disease or fungus was in the tree and matters again if you want to turf or plant over the spot. Our Vermeer chipper either takes the waste away or turns it into mulch and leaves it on site for you.

Palms run to their own calendar. Cocos, Date and Cotton palms want a clean once a year, the old husks, seed pods, flowers and dead fronds off, and the fruit gone before it starts attracting rats. Take too many healthy fronds and you cut into the palm's ability to feed itself, so we do not. Alongside that we handle palm removal, hedge cutting, fence line clearance, and power line clearance to Western Power's current requirements for high voltage and service lines. After a blow, our storm damage clean up gets the debris off your property.
