Peter has held his arborist accreditation for more than ten years, and he runs Peter the Tree Men as a family business out of Townsville. We are fully insured, and the arborist who prices your job is the same one who turns up to do it. Everything we cut gets mulched, every branch and every tree that comes off your block, and the chip is yours to keep for the garden beds if you want it.

Palms and bougainvillea come out as readily as a full grown shade tree, and size on its own is not what makes a job hard. What sits underneath decides that. A tree leaning over the roof, one grown up into the power lines, one that has died back past saving, or a block that needs clearing before a renovation starts: those are the tree removal jobs we plan around, taking the tree down in sections and rigging the pieces out where there is no clear drop. The garden and the plants around it stay intact, and the site goes back clean.

Not every tree needs to come out. For the ones worth keeping we do the tree pruning in front of the tree, not off a price list. When a canopy has dropped too low we lift it, taking the bottom limbs off for clearance and pulling weight out of the tree. When it has closed over we thin the inside so light and air move through it again. We shape trees to suit the block they stand on, keep limbs clear of roofs, fences and power lines, and take on hedge trimming while we are there.

Once a tree is down the stump is still sitting there, tripping people up and getting in the way of whatever you had planned for the space. Our stump grinding machinery takes it out below ground level so you can put turf, a garden bed or paving straight over the top. What comes off goes through the chipper with the rest of the job, and again, the mulch is yours if you have a use for it.
