Quality Tree Works is a family run arborist business based in Traralgon, built on more than 20 years of climbing and cutting trees across the Latrobe Valley. The outfit trades on what it calls friendly, old fashioned service, which in practice means turning up when it says it will, being straight about what a tree needs and cleaning up properly afterwards. The team is fully trained and fully insured, and comfortable working up in a canopy where a tree cannot simply be dropped.

Day to day the work runs from tree maintenance and tree lopping through to full tree removal, including the climbing jobs where a tree has to be dismantled in sections rather than felled in one go. Stump grinding clears what a removal leaves in the ground, and the crew also takes on tree pest and disease management, with treatment options for trees that are struggling rather than writing them off. The climbing and rigging skills mean a tree tucked behind a house or over powerlines can be taken apart piece by piece, rather than needing a crane or heavy access.

As well as the hands on work, it prepares arborist assessments and reports for building developments, tree risk assessment reports for managing hazards, and ecological surveys and tree offset management plans for jobs where trees have to be accounted for or replaced. That is the sort of paperwork councils and builders ask for, and having it done by the same people who do the tree work keeps it grounded and practical.

For the times a tree comes down in a storm or turns dangerous without warning, the business offers emergency and storm tree response, with call outs available as requested on top of its regular Monday to Friday hours. A limb resting on a roof or a whole tree across a driveway can be made safe and cleared without a long wait.
