David Pace has been cutting trees around Healesville for more than twenty years, and he still runs Ranges Tree Service himself. It is a family run business, and the crew you meet on the day is Rod, Will and Aiden, skilled Yarra Valley tree loppers who have worked these hills for years. David is a Healesville local, and he is the one who comes out to look at your tree.

The country we work is the Yarra Valley and the edge of the Dandenongs: Healesville, Lilydale, Mount Evelyn, Mooroolbark, Coldstream, Yarra Glen, Seville, Wandin, Woori Yallock, Hoddles Creek, Yarra Junction, Warburton, Badger Creek, Monbulk, Olinda, Sassafras, Toolangi and Kinglake. We cut trees Monday to Sunday, around the clock, so a storm that comes through overnight does not have to wait for business hours.

Trees come out for all sorts of reasons: disease, storm damage, a limb hanging into the wires, a trunk that has crept too close to the house, or a tree that has simply outgrown the garden it was planted in. We take on tree removal and dangerous tree removal where age, deadwood or poor structure has made a tree unsafe, tree pruning to keep a canopy healthy and clear of roofs and powerlines, and stump grinding so the ground can be used again once the tree has gone. Blocks up here are steep, tight or both, and there is often nowhere clear to drop a tree, so it comes down in pieces instead. Our climbers go up on harness and ropes and take the tree limb by limb, lowering each section under control, and everything that comes off runs straight through the chipper. The aim on every job is that when we drive out it looks like we were never there. If your tree is protected under the Yarra Ranges Council planning scheme we will say so before we start and talk you through whether you need approval, and we are happy to send a Certificate of Currency for our public liability cover before any work begins.
