Redlands Tree Service

Six of us work out of the Redlands: four qualified arborists and two apprentices coming up through the trade. We have been serving the south and bayside region of Brisbane under the Redlands Tree Service name for twenty years, and Andrew, who owns the business, has been a practising arborist in South East Queensland since 1996. He holds a Diploma in Arboriculture, is ISA Certified Arborist 0046a, and has been a member of the Queensland Arboriculture Association since 1999 and the International Society of Arboriculture since 2004. Andrew's qualifications reach past the climbing side of the trade. He holds an NRW Certificate in the Queensland Regional Ecosystem Framework, an EPA Certificate in Vegetation Structure and Remnant Status, a VALID Tree Risk Assessment qualification and the International Society of Arboriculture Tree Risk Assessment Qualification. That is the background sitting behind the advice you get from us about your own trees, and behind the safe working practices the crew keeps to on every site.

An arborist can work out which pruning a tree actually needs to keep or improve its health, appearance and safety, and our tree pruning covers limbs interfering with utilities and structures, growth obstructing streets and footpaths, wood that is dead, weak or decayed, diseased and insect infested branches, storm damaged limbs, thinning to increase light penetration, structural pruning of young trees and general shaping. Tree removal and palm removal come in when a tree is dead or dying, presents an unacceptable risk, causes an obstruction that pruning cannot fix, or is crowding and harming better trees around it. For bigger sites we take on land clearing, and we clean up after ourselves so you are not left with the mess.

Once the tree is down, stump grinding works the ground back until it is even and free of tripping hazards, or we take the stump out complete with its roots where that suits better. We recycle one hundred per cent of the vegetation we remove into mulch that goes on to feed other plants and gardens, and that A grade mulch is available for sale and delivery. Storms bring limbs and whole trees down on other trees, houses and cars, and our emergency storm damage service handles those safely without adding to the damage already done.

We also look after trees for the long run, with tree planting and species recommendations suited to a particular position, plant health care as preventive maintenance, fertilisation and soil modification, soil aeration to improve root growth, lightning protection system installation, and ongoing insect and disease management. Andrew's arborist consulting service prepares tree reports and management plans, including pre development vegetation assessments, development application reports, tree track management, hazard tree risk assessments and tree resolution advice for neighbour tree disputes.
