Richard Kenyon is a third generation arborist with over 20 years in the arboricultural industry in Australia, and he directs this business. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Arboriculture at Level 8 as well as a Diploma in Arboriculture at Level 5, and between the qualifications and the practical years, what you get on site is sensible, down to earth advice. Janet is the voice at the end of the phone and has an uncanny knack for organising absolutely everything. Out in the field there are three to four crews, each led by a team leader holding a minimum of a Certificate 3 in Arboriculture, and every other staff member is a qualified arborist at Level 3 or 5.

Every tree we survey can go into TreePlotter, which we use to collect and share data daily. It is web, mobile and GIS technology built for urban forestry and arboriculture by Plan-It-Geo, and it handles inventory and data management, reporting, outreach and tree care. Instead of a desktop database sitting on one machine in one office, it runs in a browser with unlimited users able to access, add and edit in real time, it accepts API and WFS integrations if you already have a technology stack, and the data is stored securely in the cloud here in Sydney. For anyone managing a few hundred trees across scattered sites, that is the difference between a spreadsheet and a live record.

The hands-on side works the remote parts of the Northern Territory as well as Darwin and its surrounds, run out of Coolalinga. It takes in tree pruning and removal, formative and corrective pruning, cable bracing to hold together the limbs worth keeping, stump removals and excavation works, along with pest and disease control and sensitive area works, where what surrounds the tree matters as much as the tree does.

Putting trees in and keeping them alive is the other half of the job. That means tree planting, root barrier installation to keep roots out from under paths and pipes, tree watering through the dry, tree transplanting when something has to be shifted to a new spot, and habitat creation. Behind the crews sits a fleet of well maintained plant and machinery, kept in our own site shed under full security whenever it is not out in the field.

When the weather turns, storm, cyclone and emergency response and the storm damage work that follows it are what we get called for. Consultancy and GIS and GPS mapping can be booked on their own, so when what you need is the information and not a crew, that is available by itself. The office runs Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm.
