Owen Rennie started out as an apprentice tree lopper in the Sutherland Shire, and Rennie Bros Tree Services grew out of that. More than 25 years on we are still family owned and operated, still working out of Kirrawee, and there are now up to 15 of us on the crew. Stuart Rennie holds an AQF Level 5 and ISA TRAQ certification and is a preferred consultant to Sutherland Shire Council and the NSW Department of Education. Chad Mitchell came to us in 2008 at sixteen and is a part owner fifteen years later.

We take on the complex removals, the ones where a tree sits over a house or hard against a boundary and has to come out in sections. Tree removal, tree pruning, palm trimming, stump grinding, land clearing and ongoing vegetation management all come off the same trucks, and we work residential, commercial and government sites with the same crew and the same systems.

Our AQF Level 5 arborists also write the reports that get a development through. We produce pre purchase assessments, preliminary arboricultural assessments and Arboricultural Impact Assessments for a DA, we supervise as project arborist inside Tree Protection Zones, and we carry out risk assessments from the ground or up in the canopy. We prepare expert witness reports for disputes under the Trees (Disputes Between Neighbours) Act 2006, and we diagnose pest and disease problems and set out a treatment plan. Our reporting complies with AS 4970-2009, the standard for protecting trees on development sites.

We hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification, covering how we manage our workmanship, the environment and work health and safety, and it shapes how a job runs from the first site inspection through to the last sweep of the driveway. Green waste goes through our own equipment on site and comes out as usable mulch, which we pass on to local businesses and landscapers. We leave sites better than we found them.

We are available 24/7 for emergency work, so a tree that has come down in a storm or split over a driveway can be made safe the same night. We handle council permit assistance as well and take the paperwork off your hands. Our crews cover the Sutherland Shire, St George, the Eastern Suburbs, Sydney City, the Inner West, Parramatta, North Sydney and down the South Coast.
