A quarter of a century working the one district changes what you notice about a tree. Riverina Tree Fellas was established in 1999 and is still family owned and operated, running out of Gobbagombalin on the northern edge of Wagga Wagga. Our arborists are fully qualified, and what we set out to find on any job is the safest course of action for a troubled tree, which is not always the chainsaw.

Our service area takes in Wagga Wagga and a fair stretch of the country around it, with Tumut, Cootamundra, Temora, Narrandera and West Wyalong all on the list along with the districts in between. Homes and businesses both, and the same crew and the same gear turn up either way.

Tree health problems start quietly. Yellowing leaves, small holes in the bark, sawdust looking residue at the base of a trunk, dieback creeping down a branch, a patch of sudden wilt. By the time it is obvious the damage is usually well under way, which is why our disease and pest management work begins with early detection. Borers, fungal infections, root rot and scale all weaken the structure of a tree and make it unsafe over time, and they do not all call for the same answer, so before anything is treated or cut we look at the soil conditions, the weather patterns, the watering habits and the whole environment the tree is sitting in, and work out what is actually driving the decline. Caught early, plenty of trees recover and grow stronger than they were, and a healthy tree is far less likely to need removing later.

When a tree does have to come out, that is tree removals and tree felling, with stump grinding to finish the ground off and tree lopping where the job is cutting a tree back hard rather than taking it away. The other half of the work is tree pruning and canopy management, which is as much about how a tree will grow over the seasons that follow as it is about what comes off it today, and hedging keeps the boundary screens in order. Our equipment is modern, we leave worksites clean, and you will know what we are doing before we do it.

Storms, high winds and sudden structural failures do not keep business hours. A trunk that has started to split, a limb hanging loose over a driveway or roots lifting out of the ground needs somebody that night, so our emergency tree removal runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on the same number as everything else.
