About This Business
Every cut we make is worked to AS4373, the Australian standard for pruning amenity trees, and everything above five metres is covered by insurance written for exactly that. Riverland High Works carries twenty million dollars of public and product liability along with professional indemnity, a current workers compensation policy for the tree industry, and plant and vehicle cover, with certificates available to you on request. Steve Buchecker owns the business and heads the arboriculture side with a Diploma and a Certificate III in Horticulture and Arboriculture, a Licence to Perform High Risk Work, Working Safely at Heights, SafeWork SA construction induction, work traffic management and senior first aid behind him. Every member of staff holds a police check, and we run to the Arborsafe work health and safety program.
We were established in the Riverland of South Australia in 1990 and have been family owned ever since. From humble beginnings at Barmera the company has grown into a multi faceted state wide operation, and the work now runs right across South Australia. Our client list goes from households through to schools, councils, caravan parks, insurance and real estate companies, local businesses, and government departments including DPTI, the SA Housing Trust, the NRM board and SA Water. Daniel Clarke manages operations and Jenice Buchecker keeps the office moving behind all of it.
The name is literal. Everything we do happens off the ground, and our elevated platforms put an operator safely alongside the things a household extension ladder was never going to reach. Once the platform is up there it earns its keep on more than trees. An industrial vacuum unit sucks gutters clean and flushes the downpipes out, wet or dry, with no mess or waste left for you to deal with, and solar panels get done in the same visit so they go back to full output. Gutter cleaning, window cleaning and solar panel cleaning all come off the same rig, and where a business needs the platform itself we hire it out with one of our operators on board.
On the trees, tree trimming and removal covers the difficult locations as readily as the easy ones, with the surrounding vegetation and property protected and the site left clean when we pull out. Stump removal takes out what the saw leaves in the ground. Where a decision has to be made before anything is cut, our tree assessments and full arborist reports put a trained arborist in front of the tree first. Cut material gets recycled rather than dumped: chipped into mulch we sell for gardens, or set aside as firewood, garden and park features and material for artists. Any native wildlife living in a tree is relocated wherever we can manage it, and a property clean up will sort a whole block in one hit.
A 24 hour emergency call out runs alongside all of it, so when something comes down where it should not be, the hour it happens does not matter. For everything else, no job is too small, and either Steve or Daniel will personally inspect it and give you a free quote before any work is booked in. Tell us what needs reaching and one of them will come out and look at it.
