About This Business

Out of Wickepin, we run a small town arboricultural service covering the Upper Great Southern and the Lower Wheatbelt. Behind it is a qualified and insured arborist with more than 15 years of experience. Hazard trees in the sheepyards, a dead pine at the local golf course, a big Sugar gum out before the new back fence went up: that is the sort of work we get called to.

Tree pruning here means reduction, raising, thinning and cleaning. Those four techniques let us take the hazard out of a tree, improve its structure and clear the defects that would otherwise shorten its life, and on some trees they get a decent shape back as well. Not every tree can be kept. When one has died, has structural defects that make it dangerous, or was planted somewhere it was always going to outgrow, hard up against a house, tree removal is the sensible call, and we would rather tell you that than prune around a problem. Stump grinding afterwards takes out the trip hazard and hands the space back to the garden.

We run a late model Bandit chipper, so the mulching and clean up happen on site and there is no loading the trailer for a run to the tip. The mulch that comes off it goes straight onto your garden beds if you want it. Our 18m EWP gets into tight yards, next to play equipment and up against sheds, where climbing is not the right way to approach the job. If you are short of firewood, we can block up the logs and split them on site before the cold sets in.

Power line clearance is pruned to ESI Cert 2 training, the Code of Practice for Vegetation Control near Live Power Lines and AS 4373-2007. Out this way roadside vegetation control is a safety job: vehicles and farm machinery keep getting wider, and overhanging limbs and encroaching scrub push them across the road and hide the signs on the approach to an intersection. We clear overgrown fence lines that have not been touched in years, take branches back off houses and driveways when they are scraping the roof at night or narrowing the run in, and do bushfire mitigation work ahead of the season so fuel loads come down and a fire unit can get around your property without being knocked about.

Storm damage is clean up work: trees down across a property, or left split and unstable once the weather has passed through. We take that off your hands. We also plant trees, so if you have a planting project on, tell us what you have in mind and we will see whether we can lend a hand. Our patch runs from Wickepin across the Upper Great Southern and Lower Wheatbelt, out as far as jobs like the Sugar Gum we pruned near Yealering.

Ring 0400 828 176 or email [email protected] and we will arrange a time to come and look at the tree.
