About This Business
Our base is at Niddrie, and the run of work goes out from there across Moonee Valley and Melbourne's north west. That takes in Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Ascot Vale, Aberfeldie, Strathmore, Maribyrnong, Avondale Heights, Airport West, the Keilor suburbs, Taylors Lakes, St Albans, Tullamarine, Gladstone Park and Westmeadows, then keeps going north to Craigieburn, Sunbury, Diggers Rest, Gisborne and the Macedon Ranges. Safer Trees Melbourne works the rest of the city and regional Victoria too, and Andrew is the one who answers the phone.
Older suburbs like these do not leave much room around a tree. When one is hard up against a house, a fence, a shed or a set of powerlines, dropping it whole is not on the table, so our arborists use controlled dismantling and rigging to take it out section by section in the space available, protecting the structures, gardens and landscaping around it. That is the work we are set up for, and it is the reason we will not quote a difficult removal without seeing it first. Some trees are covered by council overlays or significant tree controls and need approval before anything happens, while genuinely dead or dangerous ones are often exempt; the rules shift from council to council, and we will tell you which side of the line your tree sits on.
Where a tree is worth keeping, we prune for health, safety and shape, take out the deadwood and the limbs hanging over the driveway, and reduce the hazard in what is left standing. Hedges get shaped, maintained or brought back from being badly overgrown. Storm damaged and fallen trees are their own kind of urgent, and we clear those too. What happens to the green waste is your call: we cart it away, chip it into mulch that stays on the property to hold moisture and feed the soil, or stack it where you want it.
Once the timber is down, stump grinding gets rid of what is left so the space is usable again, and site clearance takes a block from overgrown to ready for construction or landscaping. We also write arborist reports for homeowners, developers, builders, schools and councils: each tree inspected on site and documented for health and condition, structural integrity and risk, species, and the retention or management we recommend, set out in a form a council or planner can act on. Tell us what the report is for, whether that is a planning permit, a development application, a tree preservation order or an insurance matter, and it gets written to suit.
Every job starts with someone standing in front of the tree. Ring Andrew on 0405 788 646, or send the address and a photo through the quote form on our site, and we will book a time to come and assess it. The quote is free and there is nothing attached to it, the crew turns up when we said we would, and the site is cleaned up before we leave.
