About This Business
From Goulburn down to the Victorian border and across the ACT is a great deal of country to keep tree crews moving through, which is why we run three yards instead of one. The main office is at South Pambula, near Merimbula, with a work depot at Queanbeyan and the Snowy Monaro end of the operation out of Cooma. Sapphire Coast Tree Service & Tower Hire has 22 years of operation behind it, and free quotes go to every one of those areas.
That spread only works if the paperwork travels with it. We are fully insured and fully qualified, RMS accredited, pre-approved by the ACT government, and accredited by the Tree Contractors Association of Australia NSW as qualified tree management professionals. Our management system was certified to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 back in October 2008, together with second party certification of our WHS and Environmental Management Systems, and we work to AS 4801 on site. Our entire workforce is accredited with both the NSW and the ACT power authorities, which is what makes line clearing work possible on either side of the border.
The towers are a business in their own right. Our EWP hire runs from 9 metres to 24 metres and goes out with an operator, and from a basket we can work from the ground up to 24 metres without putting a climber into the tree at all. Every platform complies with RTA, WorkCover, AS2550.10, AS1418.10, EC11 and ISSC25, holds current certification, and is inspected by WorkCover on a regular cycle. All of it is maintained and serviced in our own workshops by qualified diesel technicians with complete maintenance records kept. Every machine is registered in NSW and the ACT, none of it is more than five years old, and any of it can be viewed or inspected on request.
On the tree side we have young and experienced tree surgeons well supported by plant operators and ground workers, along with climbers qualified and accredited for large removals where no machine will reach. Tree surgery, tree removal and stump grinding cover the domestic end of it, while vegetation management, roadside clearing and forestry mulching behind a pair of Rayco C100 mulchers cover the contract end. Crane trucks come in for shifting large timber or logs off a site. Where an assessment has to be in writing, our qualified arborists produce full tree reports for councils and for the general public.
We describe ourselves as complete recyclists, which comes down to this: we recycle and sell mulch, timber, woodchip mulch, timber slabs and firewood, in loads running from a 6 by 4 trailer up to a B double. The equipment hire side goes out with an operator too, taking in water trucks from 12,000 to 18,000 litres, tip trucks from 5 to 50 tonnes, wood chippers from 6 inch to 20 inch, crane trucks lifting to 9 tonnes, street sweepers, Bobcats, a Manitou all terrain telescopic forklift with a selection of attachments, a B double trailer and a choice of twenty service vehicles.
Something else worth knowing about us is that our people stay. A good many of our employees are past ten years of service, and the low turnover is one of the things we are proudest of, because it means the crew pulling up outside your place has done the job before. Our office is open 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday on 02 6299 1879, and the Snowy Monaro end is on 0407 075 339. Quotes are free everywhere we work, so tell us where the tree is and we will come and price it.
