Four elevated work platforms, from 15 metres up to 23, plus rope access for everything they cannot get near: that is the gear Skilled Trees Services has built up in Townsville since 2007. Adam Cozzitorto owns and runs the business, an AQF Level 5 Consulting Arborist with more than twenty years in the trade, a third generation tree worker and the 2013 North Queensland Climbing Champion. Every arborist on our team has been trained by him.

When a tree sits over a building, a road, a live utility or a patch of ground that matters environmentally, the job stops being about the saw and starts being about the plan. We look at access, tree structure and the hazards around it before anyone leaves the ground, then dismantle in a controlled sequence off a platform or on rope. Confined space tree removal and precision dismantling are what councils, government agencies and infrastructure providers call us in for, and the same method comes down the driveway of a suburban block. Once the tree is out, stump grinding and site restoration follow, so the ground is clear for replanting or whatever you had planned for the space.

Our tree pruning is carried out to AS 4373-2007, whether that means structural work on a young tree, reduction on a mature one, or deadwooding a canopy that has begun shedding limbs. We run tree health assessments, pest and disease treatment, root zone investigations, root pruning and root barrier installation, and we handle coconut removal and canopy management for the palms that come with living up here. Adam is QTRA trained, so a risk decision on your tree is evidence based, and it comes with a written arborist report when you need one for a development application.

Past individual trees, we take on vegetation clearing and ongoing management, firebreak and access track maintenance, and roadside, easement and utility corridor control. Mulch sales and delivery run out of the same yard. After a storm or a cyclone we go to rapid response, pulling hazardous trees and debris out to get access reopened and the risk brought down.

We work from Stuart, just south of Townsville, and across the wider North Queensland region, for councils, government agencies, commercial sites and homeowners. We carry comprehensive public liability and WorkCover insurance, and we hold membership with the Queensland Arboricultural Association, the International Society of Arboriculture and Arboriculture Australia.
