Skytask Tree Services is an Armidale tree outfit run by qualified arborist Luke Stonestreet, working across the New England tablelands. Luke and fellow arborist Darren both hold AQF3 arborist qualifications and are climbing specialists, so the trees other crews baulk at, the tall ones, the tight-access ones and the ones hard up against a building, are exactly what Skytask is set up for.

Tree removal and tree felling are the core of the business, and there is more than one way to go about it. Straightforward trees with room around them are ground felled in one; where that is not safe, the tree is dismantled by climbing or reached with an elevated work platform and brought down in sections, keeping the weight off whatever sits underneath.

Tree pruning is done to standard rather than by rule of thumb, with a focus on crown reduction to bring an oversized canopy back into balance and the removal of dangerous limbs before they fail. Skytask sticks to structural tree work and leaves hedges, shrubs and fruit trees to the gardeners, which keeps the crew doing what it is trained for.

Stump grinding and wood chipping round out a job, grinding the stump out and chipping the branches so the site is left clean, offered alongside a removal or prune rather than as standalone work. It is a small, hands-on team, with Emmy Stonestreet on the ground alongside Luke and Darren.

Skytask Tree Services covers Armidale and the surrounding New England district. The team works Monday to Friday and prefers a text or an email with a few photos of the job, which lets Luke size it up and get back with a quote without needing to visit first.
