Some trees are worth keeping for what lives in them, which is why habitat preservation sits on our service list at Standfast Tree Services alongside the removals. A hollow bearing limb can often be retained and made safe when the rest of the tree comes back, and that is a conversation worth having before the saw comes out. We are a family business with more than forty years of combined experience, working across Sydney with a solid base of work on the Northern Beaches. Our arborists are qualified and fully insured, we are WHS compliant and local council compliant, and the work is led by an AQF Level 5 project arborist with TAFE arboriculture training behind him.

Some trees cannot stay: the dead, the dangerous, and the ones simply too large for the position they were put in, and those are the ones we take out. We run stump grinders, a woodchipper, an articulated loader and an elevated work platform, and we bring crane work in where the access or the sheer size of a tree calls for it. On a Dee Why or Manly block that usually decides the whole method before anything else does.

Our tree pruning follows AS 4373-2007, the Australian Standard for pruning amenity trees, so the shape a tree is left with is one it can actually carry through the next few seasons. Our palm maintenance keeps the fronds and seed heads under control on the coastal blocks, taken down deliberately before they let go on their own.

Afterwards the stump grinding clears out what is left in the ground, so the space goes back to lawn, garden bed or paving without a stump sitting in the middle of your plans for it.

Our arborist consultation is for the jobs that need advice or documentation before anything gets cut, including Arboricultural Impact Assessment Reports for development work. Being local council compliant matters more than it sounds, because the rules shift from one council area to the next, and a report has to answer the council you are actually in.

Our emergency tree service runs through stormy weather for storm damaged and dangerous trees, and we respond to callouts to get a property safe again quickly. Residential and commercial jobs are handled by the same crew and to the same standard.
