Stump Grind It

We're Stump Grind It, a family business working out of Mount Gravatt on Brisbane's south side, and our family has been in the tree industry for more than 25 years. Troy ran a classroom for 15 years across Queensland and Victoria before starting this outfit, mostly so he could spend his days working alongside his three sons instead of away from them. Two of the boys are apprentice arborists now, 19 and 20, and the youngest is 16 and training as a diesel mechanic, which comes in handy when you run the gear we do. We've built up close to 500 five-star reviews across Google and Facebook, and that's the number we'd rather be judged on than any adjective we could put here.

The name says where we started, back when this was a one-man stump grinding operation. We run a Vermeer SC1152, billed as Australia's largest stump grinder on wheels at 115 horsepower, so there aren't many stumps that give us much trouble. We grind them out to between 100 and 200mm below the surface, and where roots have lifted above ground and turned into a trip hazard, we'll chase and grind those out as well.

Beyond the grinding, we take on tree removal of any size, from a single backyard tree to a full dismantle in a tight spot. We handle pruning and trimming to shape, thin and reduce a tree for its health and to keep it safe, deadwood removal to clear hazardous limbs before they come down on their own, and confined space and rigging work for the removals where there's no room to drop anything. For the high work we bring in an elevated work platform rather than putting someone up a tree when the ground gear will do it more safely, and if you're not sure what a tree needs, we'll come and give you an honest assessment from a trained arborist first.

We cover Brisbane and surrounds and out across South East Queensland, taking in the Gold Coast. When a storm rolls through and leaves a tree down or hanging over something, we run a storm damage and emergency service and will get to you quickly to make it safe.
