Summit Open Space Services, trading as Summit Services, has been in land management for more than 35 years. It is a contractor rather than a two-man tree crew: depots across four states and territories, work for private, corporate and government clients, and certification to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. The Riverina arm runs out of East Wagga Wagga.

The arboriculture side covers the consulting work as well as the cutting. Qualified arborists produce tree reports, tree assessments and health and structure reports: the documents that tell an owner whether a tree is sound, what is wrong with it, and whether it can be kept. Summit describes arboriculture as the art and science of cultivating, managing and preserving woody plants and trees in permanent landscape and amenity settings, which is a fair description of where most of its tree work sits. Those reports matter most where a tree stands near a building, a footpath or a boundary and somebody has to make a defensible call about it.

Tree removal and maintenance is the practical end. Pruning, stump grinding and site clearing are all in scope, and storm damage clearance is a listed service, which for a contractor working roadsides and rail corridors is less a sideline than a recurring job. Trees are one part of a wider offering. Summit also handles parks and gardens maintenance, grounds maintenance, horticulture, bush regeneration, roadside mowing and slashing, rail and roads maintenance, landscape construction, graffiti removal and cleaning, facility maintenance and public facility cleaning. That range suits councils and asset managers who would rather hold one contract than six.
