A tree down across a driveway after a night of weather off Bass Strait is not a job that waits. Trunks and debris need to be removed fast, and storm damage and emergency work is the reason our phone rings at awkward hours. Surfcoast Tree Services is based at Anglesea and owned and operated by Jake Cleine, and plenty of people around here still know us by our old name, Surf Coast Tree Lopping. The name changed. The crew and the coast did not.

Our arborists are qualified and have worked with a wide range of tree species and site conditions, which counts for something on a coast where the same species behaves differently a street back from the water. The dead, the damaged and the trees that have simply got too big for where they stand come out under tree felling and removal, and the ones you want to keep get tree pruning, maintenance and preservation instead. Our run takes in the Surfcoast Shire at Anglesea, Aireys Inlet, Torquay, Lorne, Winchelsea and Moriac, the Colac Otway Shire at Apollo Bay, Colac and Birregurra, the City of Greater Geelong and Inverleigh, the Bellarine Peninsula at Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Queenscliff, Portarlington and St Leonards, and out into the Corangamite Shire.

Ahead of each fire season we take on fire prevention work, thinning and cutting vegetation back from houses and access tracks while there is still time to do it calmly. Once a tree is on the ground our stump grinding runs on highly specialised gear that grinds the remainder out below ground level, so the space is usable again and nobody is catching a mower blade on it next summer. Everything that comes off a job goes through the chipper, and with our mulching service and sales you can keep that mulch on your own garden or order a load in if you want more of it.

We are fully insured and we carry a total range of functional equipment, so a job does not stall waiting on a hire yard to open. We also prepare tree reports and assessments for the times a tree's health or its safety has to be put on paper for a council, an insurer or a buyer.
