About This Business
Not every tree that worries somebody needs to come out. That is the starting position at Sustainable Arboriculture Services, and it is why Philip will often spend the first visit working out what is actually wrong with a tree before anyone talks about removing it. He has been in the tree industry for more than a decade, the business is locally owned and run out of White Rock, and we are a Qualified Arborist Member of the Queensland Arboricultural Association, holding the Australian framework qualification at level 3 or above.
Where a tree can be kept, tree pruning and maintenance is the work: clearing deadwood, reducing limbs that have grown out too far for the trunk behind them, and lifting canopies off roofs, gutters and driveways. Done on a sensible cycle it keeps a tree structurally sound and stops the problem compounding, which is cheaper over ten years than waiting for something to fail and paying for the consequences.
When a tree genuinely has to go, tree removal is planned around what is underneath it and taken down in sections where the space demands it. On larger properties and development sites, vegetation management and planning sets out what is being retained, what is coming out and how the rest is protected while the work happens. Getting that written down before machinery arrives is what stops a retained tree being quietly killed by the works going on around it.
The written side of the practice carries the same qualification. Our arborist reports put a considered assessment in front of a council, an insurer or a neighbour, hazard evaluations deal squarely with whether a tree presents a real risk or only looks like it does, and tree health and condition reports diagnose what is going on with a declining tree and set out what can be done about it. A report from a qualified arborist is a document with a name behind it, which is the point of getting one.
We work across Cairns and out into Far North Queensland, and being locally owned means the person who quotes the job is the person you deal with through it. If you have a tree you are unsure about, ring Philip on 0419 198 708 and we will come and have a proper look at it before anything gets decided.
