About This Business

Craftsmanship, not shortcuts. Integrity, not ego. Growth, not grind. Those three lines are how we describe Sustainable Tree Care to ourselves before we describe it to anyone else, and they are what our managing director Jarad built the business on from our base at Camp Hill. Jarad is an AQF Level 5 Diploma Arborist with more than seventeen years in the industry, qualified in tree risk assessment through the International Society of Arboriculture and with advanced OH&S training behind him, and he came to this after senior arboricultural roles working alongside Brisbane City Council and Redland City Council.

That background shows up in the standard we hold ourselves to rather than in anything we say about ourselves. Work is carried out to Australian Standards AS4373-2007 and AS4970-2009, we are fully insured, and we are council compliant on the jobs where that actually matters. We are family run and locally owned, so the person who quotes your job is answerable for it long after the truck has gone.

When a tree has to go, tree removal and tree lopping are handled at any size, with an EWP for the trees you cannot safely climb and tight access stump grinders for the yards a truck will never reach. Where a tree is worth saving, and plenty are, the work becomes tree pruning, tree trimming and shaping, and careful deadwooding and crown cleaning that takes out what is dead or hazardous without stripping the canopy that keeps the tree alive. Hedging keeps boundaries and screens in order between visits.

Plenty of what we do is about preventing the call rather than answering it. Our storm damage prevention work reduces weight and wind load before the season turns, and our tree assessments and tree risk assessments put a defensible opinion behind decisions for homeowners, councils and developers. Where roots are lifting paths, cracking pipes or working under a slab, root barriers deal with the cause instead of the symptom. Overgrown blocks are opened up with land thinning, palms are taken care of through palm tree removal, and stump grinding finishes a site so it can be reused straight away.

Nothing we cut is wasted if we can avoid it. Seasoned and split hardwood goes out through our firewood sales, and the rest is chipped for garden mulch delivery, with a wood chipper hire option for anyone who would rather do their own. Emergency tree work and storm response is available twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.

We look after Camp Hill, Carina, Carindale, Coorparoo, Bulimba, East Brisbane, New Farm, Wynnum, Cleveland, Alexandra Hills, the Redlands, Mount Gravatt, Sunnybank, Ashgrove and the wider Brisbane southside and north Logan suburbs. Call us and we will come and give you an honest read on the tree and a price to match.
