About This Business
When a storm has been through and a council needs crews on the ground that same night, somebody has to have the people and the machinery already sitting ready. Swann's Arboricultural Services keeps response crews and resources available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we deploy them for local councils and state agencies through large scale disasters as readily as we do for the tree that has come down across your driveway. Under storm conditions the visual assessment and the advice that goes with it cost you nothing.
Brent Swann has been a qualified arborist since 1990, and he spent those years working for some of the largest tree removal contractors in Queensland and New South Wales before starting this family business. North Brisbane is home, the yard is at Sandgate, and the work runs across all of Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, the Gold Coast and Ipswich. Dead and dangerous trees are what this part of Brisbane knows us for.
Not every tree can be dropped where it stands. Our crews are trained in rope access for working safely at height, which is what gets a job done when there is no way of bringing a machine near the trunk, and rigging gear and ropes then take the tree down in sections small enough to handle on a suburban block. Bigger sites get high profile crane work. The machinery is modern and maintained, equipment pre start forms and checklists are filled in before anything is switched on, and crews and gear are audited on site. Tree pruning, tree removal, stump grinding, power line clearance and land clearing are all carried out to Australian standards, and your property is left clean and tidy when we finish, which we guarantee.
Every assessment that goes out with our name on it is written by an AQF Level 5 arborist, the qualification government and many local councils require before they will accept a tree report at all, and our arborists hold International Society of Arboriculture Qualified Tree Risk Assessor certification on top of that. It covers individual and bulk project reporting, tree valuations, tree management plans, arborist impact statements and transplanting and tree protection reports. We can also assess whether a tree or a group of trees is of enough interest to be designated heritage listed or highly significant, which changes what anyone is permitted to do with it. Twenty million dollars of public liability and indemnity cover sits behind all of it, and Safe Work Method Statements are available for every service on the list.
There is firewood as well, aged Australian hardwood sourced locally, individually selected and split on site, delivered to homes, restaurants and businesses throughout Brisbane and cut to suit an open fire, a pizza oven or a slow combustion heater. Everything else starts with somebody coming out to you, and both the onsite inspection and the quote are free and come from a qualified arborist. Ring 1300 SWANN 5 whenever it happens, including at three in the morning, and tell us what you are looking at.
