Sydney Arborist is Antony, an AQF Level 5 certified consulting arborist who has spent more than twenty-five years working with trees across northern Sydney. We are the reports and advice side of arboriculture. We don't climb or cut; we assess, document and advise, so when you need to know whether a tree can stay, what it needs to stay healthy, or what a proposed build will do to it, that is the question we answer. Antony is fully insured, and after twenty-five years the reason clients keep our number is simple: we give you a straight, qualified read on where you stand before you commit to anything.

Most jobs begin with a preliminary tree assessment, an early evaluation of the trees on a site that looks at species, age and health and flags the risks that matter, whether that is disease, pests or structural damage in the trunk and limbs. It tells you what you are dealing with before you design around it, and whether a closer inspection is needed. Alongside that we carry out tree health and condition evaluations on individual trees or whole groups, the visual inspection work that sits behind any recommendation to keep, treat or remove.

Where the concern is below ground, we take on root investigation and mapping. What the roots are doing near a footing, a pipe or a slab often decides whether a design works, and it's not something to guess at. We locate and document them using the right method for the site, from careful manual excavation and air spading through to ground penetrating radar and electrical resistivity imaging, and set out the root protection zones on a clear diagram you can build to.

For anything that has to satisfy council or a planner, we prepare full arborist reports and arboricultural impact assessments, the documents a Development Application turns on. They catalogue the trees on and around a site, set out how the work is likely to affect them, and specify the protection measures that have to be in place. On larger builds we stay on as project arborist, overseeing tree protection through construction so the measures written on paper are the ones followed on the ground. It is work we do for homeowners, developers, architects, builders and councils alike.
