Tasmanian Arboriculture Group

Tasmanian Arboriculture Group is a Hobart-based arboricultural firm that Colin Fry founded in 2014, drawing on his two decades in the local industry. It works across urban and rural Tasmania and takes the view that well managed trees are an asset to a property, the environment and the wider community, an outlook that shapes how it approaches everything from a backyard removal to a development-site assessment.

A large part of the group's work sits on the consulting side. It offers arboricultural asset management for existing trees, project arborist services on development sites, and tree assessments, impact evaluations and tree protection plans for anyone who needs the paperwork to satisfy a council or a builder before work begins.

On the ground, the tree care team handles tree removal, tree pruning across deadwood, formative and crown-thinning work, tree planting, pest management, habitat creation and ongoing maintenance. Climbers work to Rope Access Level 3, and the crew runs from certified arborists holding a Cert III in Arboriculture through to apprentices coming up the ranks.

Beyond individual trees the business takes on land regeneration: eco-mulching, revegetation, weed management and site remediation on larger blocks and rural properties. The team includes people with degrees in botany and natural environment studies, so the ecological side of a job is handled with the same care as the cutting.
