About This Business
Allister is a qualified climber with years in this industry, and Templeton Trees exists because of an opinion formed over those years: that arboriculture has a reputation for destruction it does not have to have. So the business was built around proactive work rather than a take it down mentality, out of Bendigo, where we work across the city and the districts around it. That is not marketing language we borrowed. It is the reason the company is set up the way it is.
The clearest expression of it is the count. For every tree we cut down, two go back in the ground, planted through partnerships with local Landcare groups. There is no asterisk on that and no upsell attached to it. The second expression is quieter and costs us more: a consultation that ends in advice not to remove anything. What looks like a sick tree to an owner is often a tree doing exactly what trees do at that time of year, and a trained eye can tell the difference. We would rather tell you that and lose the job, because a customer who keeps a healthy tree because of us is worth more over twenty years than one removal invoice.
When pruning is the answer, the discipline is in knowing how much a given tree can afford to lose and where the cut goes. Formative pruning is done to the Australian standard, worked out with you around what you want the tree to look like in five and ten years, not just after this visit. Separately, risk reduction pruning handles the branches that have become a genuine hazard to you or the house. And when a tree does have to come out, it comes out on rope with a wide range of rigging techniques, or gets clear felled where there is honestly the room, so nothing underneath it wears the damage. Either way the decision about which method to use is made before the gear comes off the truck, not halfway up the trunk.
Hedging covers everything from a serious height reduction to a yearly trim that keeps a hedge where you want it. Our emergency works crew runs around the clock, seven days, for the trees that fail without warning, and we write tree reports and advice where a decision needs to be documented. If you have a tree you are worried about, book a consultation through the site or ring 0415 280 286, and we will come and look at it before anyone talks about taking it out.
