Terrific Trees is Charlie's business, covering the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne. By the company's own count that is more than 20 years in the tree game, and it took a Quality Business Award in 2024 for best tree service in the City of Wyndham. The arborists are qualified and the business runs $20 million in public liability cover, which is the number that matters once a crew is working above somebody's roof.

Tree removal is the bulk of the work, and tree lopping covers the cases where the whole tree does not need to come out. Removals through the west often come down to access across a narrow block rather than the cut itself. Emergency tree removal runs 24/7 for storm damage, fallen trees and hazards that turn up without warning, which around here usually means a hot north wind and a gum that has been leaning the wrong way for years.

Tree pruning, trimming and hedging is the maintenance side: deadwood out, clearance off roofs and lines, hedges held to shape rather than left until they have to be cut back hard.
